Looks like it's time to start looking into the Fediverse since the Reddit-Mod War of 2023. Since all the centralized platforms are locking their walled gardens. I miss the days of RSS feeds, discoverablity was not great but at least subscribing meant it would show up in your feed. Less censorship issues since you could choose your subscriptions. Youtube doesn't show me videos of channels I'm subscribed to. I had been off Facebook for a while, but I visited recently and the ad load in the feed is rediculous. And now Reddit is killing the API.
Spent Saturday enjoying the weather here in Findlay. I got coffee at Coffee Amici, walked around Civitan and Riverside parks. While visiting with my parents, I expressed my ire at the neglect of Civitan park. Specifically the removed playground and gazebo, also the sorry state of the asphalt path. It would be great if they would connect the path to the bike trail on the other side of the tracks. It has so much potential, it’s in a great location being so near downtown. We also talked about the proposed court building, and the loss of parking. The simplest solution would be to move the parking lot to the north side of the river. The county already owns the property. If they were to make it public parking then people to could park there and walk across the street to Civitan park or walk downtown. Seems like it would be the best solution.
